Key takeaway

Connect your reply to the actual task, offer help and suggest one next step. Respect both the group's rules and the author's preferences.

Choose where to respond

Read the original message and community rules first. If replies from providers are welcome, answer directly in the thread. This preserves context and avoids making your offer look like an unrelated advertisement.

If the author asks for private replies, message them about that task. When the format is unspecified, assess whether a direct approach is expected. A ban on group advertising is not itself an invitation to message its members privately; ask the administrator when the rules are unclear.

  • Private replies invited: send a brief, relevant message.
  • Group replies allowed: offer help in the thread.
  • Unclear rules: clarify the acceptable format first.
  • Request closed or offer declined: stop the sales approach.

Use three parts in your first message

Show which request you read. Explain the specific help you can genuinely provide. Finish with one question or next step. Mention experience only when it is real and relevant to the task.

Do not make the person search your profile for an answer. If examples matter, offer a relevant piece of work rather than unrelated links. Never copy invented experience, portfolio claims or promises from a template.

Illustrative example: “Hello! I saw your request for a website with a menu. I can help with that. Do you need customers just to browse the menu, or to place orders too?”

Adapt the reply to the service

These are teaching examples, not real customer conversations or universal scripts. Only ask questions the original request has not already answered.

Adapt the reply to the service
ServiceIllustrative reply
RepairsYou mentioned replacing tiles. What area and surface condition are involved? Those affect the scope.
Nail servicesYou are looking for a manicure appointment. Which day suits you, and do you need existing polish removed?
PhotographyI saw your event photography request. What date and duration do you need?
WebsitesShould the catalogue only display products, or also accept online payments?
BookkeepingYou need help with your accounts. Where is the business registered, and what is the immediate task?

Discuss price and follow-up without pressure

When the person asks about price and the scope is clear, provide a price and explain what it includes. If information is missing, say what affects the calculation and ask a relevant question. A range is useful with conditions, not as bait.

Silence does not give permission for a sequence of reminders. In an established conversation, agree when to follow up. Do not launch an automated sequence after an unanswered cold message. When someone declines, thank them and end the exchange.

Use monitoring for relevance, not mass messaging

Telegram warns that unwanted messages can lead to restrictions. There is no universally guaranteed daily allowance for cold outreach; Premium should not be treated as permission to send unsolicited promotions. Consider whether this person expects your reply and whether it addresses their task.

LeadJet helps you notice relevant requests. Open the original, check that it is current and respond to the actual need. That turns a notification into a useful conversation rather than an excuse to send everyone the same pitch.
